Biography / Discography


As a young child, Robin began singing with his siblings in a family gospel group. In high school, he sang in chorus and small ensemble. While in high school, he auditioned for and was accepted into the NC Governor’s School in choral music in Winston-Salem, NC.

After graduating from high school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he sang in the men's and mixed glee clubs.  In 1988, he received his undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. In 2021, Robin earned his doctorate degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. 

Following college, he sang for 10 years with the award-winning male trio, Set Free. After Set Free disbanded, Robin began singing as a soloist, releasing his first solo (inspirational) album             in 2007 appropriately entitled “A New Direction”.

In December 2011, Robin released his first solo Christmas album, “Sounds of Christmas: Volume 1”. This album featured the single, “North Star” written by MRC Songwriting & Music Publishing (Robin Davis, Crissy Oravits and Melanie Horton). 

In 2014, Robin released his third solo CD entitled "Long Journey". 

In 2022, Robin released a contemporary arrangement of the Christmas classic "O Come, O Come Emmanuel".
